This year, our son started at Primrose Pre-K. Walking into that first meeting with his teachers, I didn't know what to expect, but everyone at the table listened, and everyone was honest with us. Over the course of the year, we watched him grow, and we felt the care behind it every step of the way.

Barrington is a community we're still getting to know, and one we're fully invested in. Learning to parent is hard, and we've been grateful for the families, educators, and neighbors here who show up for these schools as teachers, as PTO members, as parents at pickup. It takes a village, and this town has been ours.

That experience is a big part of why I'm running. I'm also a dedicated educator with over twenty years of experience in school system work and education policy, but before any of that, I'm a parent who has seen what it means when a school system listens, responds, and remains open to dialogue. Â That is the kind of community that can keep learning and getting better together.

Why I'm Running
Barrington schools are entering an important period of change. We have a new superintendent, major construction projects underway, and decisions ahead that will shape the experience of students, educators, and families for years to come. I’m running because this moment calls for steady leadership, clear priorities, and a willingness to listen.
We also need to look beyond the decisions directly in front of us. The world our children will enter is changing quickly. Barrington should be asking what students will need to become thoughtful, capable, and adaptable people, and how our schools can prepare them without losing sight of the relationships and sense of community that help children thrive.
As a parent, I experience these decisions personally. As an educator, I understand how systems, policies, and resources shape what happens in classrooms. I want to bring those perspectives together to help our community navigate this transition thoughtfully and build toward what comes next.
